Tonight (1/21) will be another history for derby Borneo where Persisam will be faced again to their eternal rival, Persiba Balikpapan. Pesut Mahakam will challenge Beruang Madu in Parikesit (Pertamina) Stadium Balikpapan, Persiba’s home base.

Derby Borneo, Persisam and Persiba have always been eternal rivals since so many years ago

Like usual, prestigious derby for both teams always create a high tension and competitive aura. In the last season of ISL, Persisam lost 0-2 from Persiba in Balikpapan. But in they got their revenge paid when their beat Persiba 4-1 in Segiri Stadium, Samarinda.

“There’s always a change in every season, but we will come to Balikpapan for 3 away points for Persisam. I’m sure will be able to do it although the composition of our team is not complete, but I’m sure the boys can do it.” said Persisam’s head coach, Daniel Roekito.

Facing his ex-clubs, Daniel Roekito is optimistic, because of the experience he had when he was coaching Persiba Balikpapan for two seasons, moreover Persiba’s recent coach was his coaching assistant when he was coaching Persiba.

“It doesn’t mean that I’ve already know what’s their strategy but I have prepared a strategy that is useful for us in order to defeat Persiba Balikpapan based on the experience I had about this club.” added Roekito.

Although Persisam will be fighting without Eka Ramdani and Srdjan Lopicic, coach Roekito believe that they will stil can do it.

He insisted to his team to not easily become emotional because he knows that this derby is having a very high tension and high prestige for both teams.

The match itself will be taken place in Parikesit Stadium, Balikpapan and will be broadcasted live on ANTV on 19.30 wita. Meanwhile, about 300 of Pusamania go to Balikpapan to support their team. Although the number of Pusamania in the stadium is limited, but they are sure that their support will help Pesut Mahakam emotionally and mentally.
